Free speech?

Just a quick comment this morning regarding a breaking story on the BBC. Stuart Rodger, 23, has been sentenced to 100 hours community service. Apparently he breached a security cordon, consisting of one chap checking credentials, which was ‘surrounding’ the Prime Minister as he addressed a meeting of Conservatives at the Central Hotel. He shouted, “No ifs, not buts, no public sector cuts.” Sounds fairly innocuous doesn’t it.

However during an appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court, the former Lib-Dem political activist admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by violating a security cordon, shouting and failing to desist, attempting to approach Mr Cameron and causing fear and alarm.

Its that last bit that intrigues me, ” causing fear and alarm.” It makes you wonder doesn’t it. If this put Mr Cameron into a state of fear and alarm what do you think Alex Salmond does to him?
